Meet the new Owner

Meet the New Owners:

Hi I’m Lex and I am deeply honored to steward the next chapter of Better Buzz Yoga, carrying forward the vibrancy and integrity that its teachers and community have so beautifully cultivated. As I step into this role, my hope is to honor the roots of Sunnyside while embracing the neighborhood’s evolving story—blending historic charm with the energy of today’s growing community. My vision is to nurture a studio that feels welcoming to all, reflecting the richness, cultural diversity, and spirit that make Sunnyside so special.

While the heart of the studio will remain the same—continuing to grow the incredible community that Jaime, Brian, and the BBY teaching team have brought to life—you’ll notice one change next door. The Hive will be transitioning into HoliHub, led by my husband, Shimi, who you’ll also see around the studio. Shimi will be supporting with some studio operations and happily enjoying unlimited access to some of Denver’s best yoga classes.

Meet Lex Irias (she/ella):

I’m a trauma-sensitive yoga instructor (200hr YTT + 40hr TSY) and a mental health and addiction counselor (LPCC, ADDC). Deeply inspired by Anodea Judith’s Eastern Body, Western Mind, I integrate bioenergetics and holistic approaches into my work, blending movement, mindfulness, and emotional healing.

My yoga journey has taken me from student to teacher to working behind the scenes in studio operations, including time at Wanderlust Yoga in Los Angeles and CorePower Yoga in Denver. Alongside my wellness work, I spent over a decade in startup marketing and tech, where I first noticed the impact of screen time and digital overload on mental health. That realization sparked my passion for digital wellness, and today, as an addictions counselor, I focus on helping people build healthier, more intentional relationships with technology. This mix of experience gives me an approach rooted in entrepreneurship, guided by community, and fueled by a passion for creating spaces that inspire connection, healing, and growth.

I’m a proud Honduran who moved to South Florida nearly 18 years ago for college and have called Colorado home for the past 11 years. For the last seven years, I’ve dedicated myself to teaching yoga within the Spanish-speaking community. My passion for expanding access has earned me multiple grants to advance mental health and substance misuse awareness while making yoga and holistic practices more accessible across Denver. I’ve also had the honor of teaching bilingual classes at Yoga on the Rocks in 2022 and 2024, and I’m excited to bring even more Spanish-language offerings to Better Buzz Yoga in the months ahead.

Yoga has been a lifelong anchor for me. I first discovered the practice in college while recovering from a car accident and seeking inner peace amid childhood anxiety. Over time, yoga became my tool for healing, regulation, and self-discovery. Today, I embrace both the energizing flow of power yoga (often paired with my favorite Latin house beats) and the grounding stillness of yin, restorative, and meditation practices.

Outside the studio, I find joy in reading, dipping into natural waters, exploring mountain trails, swinging in hammocks, ecstatic dance, and being a dog mom to Blaze. I make yearly visits to my mother and grandmother in Roatan, a small Caribbean island off the coast of Honduras, where I dream of one day hosting yoga retreats.

I embody the spirit of my private practice, SiendoHuman—embracing the simple, imperfect beauty of being human and living life as an ongoing journey of learning, growth, play, and intentional rest.

I’m excited to connect with you all and practice alongside you.
